Cookies and local storage

Succession Radar sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and loads its fonts from this site rather than from a third party. Nothing here needs your consent, which is why there is no cookie banner. This page lists everything that is stored on your device, and every third party your browser talks to, and when.

On your device: local storage

The dashboard keeps two items in your browser's localStorage. Both are strictly necessary for something you have asked the site to do, both stay on your device, and neither is used to follow you anywhere.

NameWhat it holdsWhen it goes
sr_tokenYour sign-in session, so the dashboard knows it is you on each page. When you sign out, or when the session expires.
sr_senderThe sender details you typed into the letter dialog (your name, role, company and phone), so you do not have to type them again. When you clear your browser's site data. It is written only if you draft a letter.

Signed out, nothing is stored at all.

Payments: Stripe

When you subscribe, you are taken to a checkout page hosted by Stripe, our payment provider, at checkout.stripe.com. Stripe sets its own cookies there, which it needs to take the payment and to prevent fraud. They are strictly necessary for the payment and are governed by Stripe's cookie policy. The same applies to Stripe's billing portal, reached from the Billing button in the dashboard. We do not load Stripe on our own pages.

Spam protection: Cloudflare Turnstile

The sign-up, contact and valuation forms run a Cloudflare Turnstile check to tell people from automated spam. It loads only on those forms, and only when the check is switched on. Cloudflare processes the information it needs for that check under its own Turnstile privacy addendum, and does not use it for advertising.

The dashboard map

The dashboard loads its map library from unpkg.com, and the map draws its tiles from OpenStreetMap (tile.openstreetmap.org) when you open it. Neither sets a cookie for us, but like any web server they see your IP address when your browser asks them for a file. The public pages load neither.

Changes and questions

If any of this changes we will update this page first. How we handle personal data more generally is in the privacy notice; questions go through the contact page.
